Over the past
6 months, I've received an enormous amout of email asking
if I do commissions. The truth is, for the past 5 years,
I have been doing paid commissions of SquirrelWorks
character art through private requests. While the comix
and my career keep me very, very busy, I do accept commissions.
Please check out these guidelines before emailing
me a commission request:
Concerning Content
I only accept requests to do commissions with my SW
characters from Coz/Effect and BattleGate.
If you have your own character that you'd like to be
included in the piece with my characters, it's usually
cool with me. However, I won't do requests of other
artists' work, or of any other comic or cartoon series
besides my own.
I'll accept most requests. If you're concerned about
your request being "adult" in nature, etc.
Please contact me first and let me know what's on your
mind. Don't worry, I won't judge you, but there are
some things I can't do... but then again, the right
amount of cash might change my mind hahaha XD
Rates
As you know, I have 2 distinct styles of art for Coz/Effect
and BattleGate. Each style varies in the amount
of time it takes to take an idea from sketch to final
product. While sketch commissions pretty much cost the
same, full-color commissions vary widely based on your
request. A regular sketch commission can cost anywhere
from $100-$125, and a fully rendered color piece starts
at $250 and up (again, this really depends on the request).
What do I get?
Depending on the request, as part of the package you
get all the original pencil-sketch work and the final
clean-up art that went into creating the piece. A sketch
commission has detailed pencil work, and a full color
commission takes it to the next level with the drawing
being completed in the coloring style of the series
you requested. I sign
all the pieces and am happy to include a message with
my autograph if you request it.
Final Product
If you've requested a full-color commission, the final
printed product's cost is *not* included in my rate.
You have the option of having me quote the pricing for
you, or taking a rights-protected high-resolution file
and doing a limited print product for yourself.
About Turn-Around Time
I have a large back-load of commission requests and
turn-around time varies on the type of request you have.
If you're requesting a sketch-commission, 2 weeks is
typical, and a full color commission can't take a month
or so depending on my workload. Either way, you have
the right of approval before I take the idea to final
product.
Concerning Reproduction Rights
In most cases, I only grant limited reproduction rights
if you choose to have the finalized art printed professionally
yourself. Otherwise, you can put up a copy of the commission
I completed for you on your web site for fun, only.
No other reproductions are allowed.
Regardless, rights to the final image remain the property
of The Chris Moujaes Company, Inc. and I reserve the
right to reuse the art elsewhere. If you're interested
in commissioning me to do SW art for reproduction on
a larger scale, or to reproduce existing SW art, this
is a licensing issue, and should be directed to my agent.
Soooooooooo.....
With all that said and outta the way, email
me your request and I'll be happy to talk
to you about it! Thanx for being a fan and I hope to
get a chance to do some cool SW art for you!
